Sweetwater Sch’Wheat

Style; American Pale Wheat

C: Clear as can be
H: Liquid Gold
N: Yeast, Grain, Acidic Citrus (lemon)

Miguel; Well Sch’Wheat water err Sweetwater brings us a wheat beer that really doesn’t live up to it’s name. The nose is barely present. The taste is slightly grainy with hints of yeast and orange. It’s very light but not enough flavor to really be refreshing on a hot summer day.
Score; 2.1113

The Ferm; Well there really isn’t much here but a Light Beer. The nose is light, the taste is light, and the body is light. Ohh yah and the alcohol volume is pretty light too. The only strong quality is that it taste a lot like water! This is just another winning example of a quality bottle of Sweetwater Beer. Of course, sarcasm is no additional charge with my blog.

Dank Tank Big Ol’ Belgian Blue Balls
Sweetwater Brewing Company
Atlanta, GA
8.00% ABV

C. Clear
H. Almost Pinkish tint of Amber….weird color
N. Malty, Light Fruit (Red Apples), Hints of Belgium Yeast Sweetness

Cerveza Chica; I did not have high hopes for this beer because to this date I have yet to be impressed by anything that I have tried by Sweetwater. This one follows that rule. The beer smelled really weird to me. All I got was malt and really no blueberry smell at all. It is a Belgian style, but I didn’t get much from that part of it either. This beer didn’t seem to have enough carbonation. I was sort of sickened by the taste of this beer. I am all for fruity beers, but this one did not deliver at all. I have to say that there is nothing redeeming about this beer and since I am being completely honest I will tell you that I dumped this whole beer down the drain. Sorry Sweetwater, but I am done trying to give you another chance and the benefit of the doubt because each time you have failed and disappointed me.

The Ferm; I was really excited to recieve this Dank Tank from a recent trade. I have had the BSP and it was pretty good, and very to style.
This beer though poured an odd color, with very little head….maybe thats why they call it Big Ol’ Blue Balls, cause there’s no head. Wow I crack myself up. The apperance of this beer just is weak across the board. As for the taste…well that isn’t weak. Rye malt attacks your palate upon the initial sip. Some dark fruit follows the rye attack, I assume from the Belgium Yeast….cause I still don’t get any Blueberry out of this. The beer finishes EXTREMLY DRY, and leaving your mouth dying for some sort of liquid to follow the sip. Yep…pretty much disappointed. I was expecting something with a lot of Blueberry in it and a good summer sipper thats a BIG FAT NO! They should call this beer “Dried Up Rye Crotch” instead, honestly.

SweetWater – 420 Extra Pale Ale

SweetWater – 420 Extra Pale Ale
Sweet Water Brewing Company
Atlanta, Ga.
5.4% ABV

C. Clear
H. Golden light orange
N. Not a pleasant smell, more malt than hops

Cerveza Chica; This beer was nothing special. It tasted like many other pale ales that I’ve had before. You could definitely taste more malt than hops so it wasn’t very bitter. The smell kind of turned me off on this beer. I think Phil got the short end of the stick on this beer trade. The beer just completely dies out and it doesn’t even have much to begin with. I would have enjoyed this more if there was more of a hoppiness to it but it just fell flat.
Score: 1.77

Ferm; I am not horribly disappointed but still, this seems to be a very average Extra Pale Ale. I’m questioning what’s extra about it? This beer seems to be a little too malty and not balanced well in the hop factor. Not a horrible beer but still not what I expected. Good entry level Pale Ale.

SweetWater – Blue

SweetWater – Blue
Sweet Water Brewing Company
Atlanta, Ga.
4.90% ABV

C. Clear
H. Pee yellow
N. Blueberry

Cerveza Chica; This could totally be a breakfast beer. It smells wonderful so that part appealed to me. I was afraid it would taste too artificial like many other flavored beers and it pretty much does. I would have to say it is better than Sea Dog Blueberry or Wild Blue, but there was nothing special about the way it tasted. It was incredibly light and easy to drink, but I smelled the blueberries more than I tasted them. If you want something that doesn’t taste totally like a beer then this would suffice. It was worth a try, but it left me hanging and not satisfied.
Score: 2.07

Ferm; Well I got this from a beer trade from North Carolina. I was told this was one of the better SweetWater Beers. Well it wasn’t half bad. Nothing that I am jumping on the phone with my mother saying I just had this amazing beer. Amazing it is not, drinkable yes. Very light ale, which smells wonderful, the taste is just ok, and the after taste is pretty pleasant. Blueberries are definitely in the beer, but not over powering like the Sea Dog version. Great beer for the summer time.
